8th graders attending a fieldtrip to BMCC, and getting to experience the options they have if they attended their school. We are incredibly proud of their behavior! Their tour guide stated that they were the most attentive and respectful group they have had recently, even compared to older high school students. Husky Pride!

Congratulations to Devon for being recognized as a Husky Humanitarian! Mrs. Colwell states, "Citizenship. Devon spent his lunch helping another student understand and complete his math assignment so he would be caught up!" Way to go Devon, not only for being a math whiz, but also a human wiling to help another human!

Attention 8th grade families! In addition to a special fieldtrip day to recognize 8th graders, a parent group is organizing a small evening ceremony also. The ceremony will take place June 2nd from 6-8:00 pm in the HS gym. If interested or have any questions, please call Elli Fincher at 541-805-0675 or Valerie Fox at 580-210-8254.

A friendly reminder that JH is competing against HS students for our Wacky Wednesday Challenge tomorrow. JH students dress in black and HS students dress in purple. Will the younger or older students win?

Mrs. McKay, Mrs. Craig and the freshmen participated in EOU's 'Discover Your Future' Event. Students are having so much fun, and represented Elgin with pride!

Look what our shop crew accomplished . . .they took a 10 year-old trailer and repainted, redecked and rewired it. It looks fantastic!!

Personal Finance students participating in mock interviews with Boise Cascade. Thank you Mrs. Anderson for exposing students to a life-applicable experience!

What are students learning in their Engines and Equipment class? Something I wish I had learned as a student! Students are changing oil!

Students are ready to participate again, and they have been challenged to wear baseball hats to school for our Wacky Wednesday Challenge! Hmmm, how serious are they about beating staff?

Whoop Whoop! Bailey has been recognized as a Husky Humanitarian! Mrs. Voyles states, "Compassion and Helpfulness. Bailey offered to help me in the kitchen after I burned my hand and arm. Bailey was extremely helpful and a joy to be around." Thank you Bailey for jumping in to help . . .you modeled compassion in so many ways!

Huge shout out to Parker for being recognized as a Husky Humanitarian! Mrs. Voyles states, "Helpful and Courteous. He was asked to help me do the dishes after burning my hand and arm. He did not hesitate at all! Parker did a great job!" Anyone that knows Parker, knows this is not a surprise! He is always willing to help, and does it cheerfully!

Seniors of 2023 pulled off a great senior prank yesterday! Every single chair in the building was moved to the greenhouse with a new combo lock, little signs posted throughout the school, items from each staff member placed in another's classroom and a 'For Sale' sign placed outside of the building, for which we had several phone calls inquiring about the impending sale. A fun energy rippled through staff and students when arriving, and we all pulled together 1st period to get the school put back together. Fun memories!!

Shouting to the sky for Izaih and Austin for being wonderful citizens! Mrs. Voyle states, "Compassion and Helpfulness. They took it upon themselves to reach out to me to help pack lunches, clean the kitchen, and remove heavy items for me. They saw I needed assistance, and I am extremely grateful for their help.

A round of applause for John and Aiden for modeling respect! Mrs. Trier has recognized them as Husky Humanitarians for respect. She states, "During class presentations, Aiden and John were extremely respectful, attentive, and did a great job taking notes." Thank you for reducing the stress that accompanies speeches, and being respectful of the learning environment!
