Final reminder! Today, all third through sixth grade students are headed to Cove Play Day. Please have your student pack a sack lunch, water bottle, and sunscreen. The group will leave school around 8:15 and return at the end of the school day. Thank you!

Good afternoon families of second graders! Tomorrow, May 7th, both 2nd grade classes are headed to the State Heritage Site just outside of Joseph on a field trip. The bus is scheduled to depart Stella Mayfield at 8:30. We will spend a couple hours hiking the trail, looking for and identifying wildflowers as part of our science curriculum. Students will need to bring a water bottle and sack lunch, which we will be eating at the Joseph City Park. The bus is to return to the school at around 2:30. Thank you!

Travel update! Sixth grade outdoor school is through Portland and our estimated arrival time remains the same back to Elgin around 5:00. We'll continue to keep you posted!

Good morning families of sixth graders! We have had an amazing time here at outdoor school and are hitting the road at around 10:00 for home! We are hoping to be back around 5:00. We plan to unload and reunite with families at the Stella Mayfield roundabout. Please remember that all sixth graders are excused from school tomorrow, May 1st. A more precise arrival time will be forthcoming as we get closer to Elgin. Thank you!

Good afternoon families of 3rd and 4th graders! As part of the Physical Education curriculum, ALL 3rd and 4th grade students are invited on a field trip to EOU on Thursday April 24th. Buses will depart at 11:45 and return around 3:15. We will eat lunch prior to departure, so NO need to pack a lunch. While there, 3rd grade will play disc golf and 4th grade will climb the rock wall. Students need to wear clothing appropriate for light physical activity, tennis shoes and comfortable clothing would be appreciated. They may bring a water bottle and possibly sunscreen. We can't predict the weather, so dressing in layers may be helpful as well.

Good afternoon sixth grade families! We are planning for an informational meeting for our upcoming Outdoor School trip to the Oregon Coast, which will take place in the Stella Mayfield auditorium beginning at 3:45 on Tuesday April 22nd. This would be a good time to have your student's permission slip returned as well as an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about Outdoor School. Please plan for a family representative to attend. Thank you and enjoy the Easter weekend!

On Wednesday, April 16th, all students first through third grade are invited to attend the Union County Safety Fair, hosted by the Oregon Department of Transportation, at the Blue Mountain Conference Center in La Grande. The bus will leave for the safety fair at around 12:45 and return to the school at 3:15 for release. Thank you!

Tomorrow, April 3rd, students will be on a half-day schedule with a release time of 12:15 for grades kindergarten through second grade and 12:20 for grades three through six. Buses will load, for kids who ride, at 12:25. This shortened day is to accommodate for the afternoon and evening parent/teacher conferences. Thank you and have a great evening!

The release time for grades kindergarten through second grade will be at 12:45, and grades three through six at 12:50. Buses will load at 12:55 in time to head to the high school by 1:00 for the release of students 7-12. Thank you!

Good evening families of fourth graders! Tomorrow, January 23rd, all fourth graders are headed on a field trip to Joseph to the sled dog races. The bus will depart from Stella Mayfield at 8:00 and return at around 3:00. Please be sure to pack your child a sack lunch and are dressed in warm winter clothing. There is also a gift shop for souvenirs if they would like to purchase items from the gift shop. Thank you!
