Good afternoon Elgin School District families. This message serves as a reminder there will be no school on Monday, September 2nd in observance of Labor Day. Thank you and have a great weekend!

SCHOOL PHOTOS… letters will be sent home with your student this week. 📸
Hi, my name is Cortney Chagas and I am the photographer behind Guentert Photography. I am also the Elementary School Counselor. ® I have been asked to take school photos as well as school sports photos this year and I'm excited to get to do so. You can find my work on both Facebook and Instagram @ GuentertPhotography.
As a friendly reminder, Elgin Jr./Sr. High will have their school photos Wednesday, September 4th and Stella-Mayfield Elementary will have their photos taken Thursday, September 5th.
All photos will be taken outside on school grounds with trees as the backdrop. If you would like your child(ren) to dress formally, wear an outfit that coordinates with the backdrop, or whatever clothing they feel the most comfortable in for their school portraits- the choice is yours.
All students' photos will be released in an online gallery, ShootProof. I have used this delivery process for many years and it works wonderfully. There will be one gallery for the district, albums separated by building and grade. Your child will receive an individual access code for their photo and a class photo will be within the grade level album as well. Anyone with this code can access and potentially purchase your child(ren's) photos. Please do not share your code with anyone you do not want to have access to your child (ren's) photo.
After logging in with your child (ren's) access code, you will be directed to their individual school photo. To make things as easy-peasy as possible for both families and the school, the gallery will allow you to select professionally printed print packages and deliver the packages directly to vou (home, mailbox. postal box). For those of you with more than one child, you may select all of your students packages and do one order, again, delivered directly to you.
© You have the option to choose from a few different
packages and each includes a digital download. Once you have selected your package(s) and have placed your order you will receive a confirmation email and should expect to receive your order within 1-2 weeks. All orders will go through ShootProof after the gallery is complete.
The gallery will be available to you for the duration of the school year and will expire May 30. 2025. As for turn-around time, to be transparent with you, this is my first time taking district school-wide photos. I have photographed many weddings, engagements, family, newborn, seniors, special occasions, and sports photos; thus, I do not have a set turnaround time at this moment for school photos, but will keep everyone updated as I work through them. I will do my best to push them out as soon as possible while taking into consideration that I want your child(ren) to have a great experience while ensuring you receive a quality photo of your child(ren) that represents who they are at this moment.
I am very excited and overjoyed with anticipation for your child(ren's) upcoming photo day! I hope to share joy with you through my photography service to fulfill your school portrait photography needs. I feel confident in knowing that you will truly cherish your child(ren's) school portraiture for many years to come!
If your child is absent the day of photos and/or you are unhappy with your child(ren's) photo and would like a retake, that'll be scheduled at a later date.
Thank you,
Cortney Guentert-Chagas
